QuickAcces - keeps crashing on opening

Hi Everyone,

Orkestra local version, on 1.8.0 and 1.8.3 keep crashing when opening the quickacces toolbar.

With the desktop app it crashes and in revit self it also crashes. After reinstall it also crashes. Kinda neem some help haha

Hi there @WTonnema ,

Can you please try going through the steps described here as this might be related to an install inssue ?

Hi @m.elayoubi,

A few months ago, the issue seemed to have resolved itself, but unfortunately, it occurred again last week. After running a Dynamo script, my Quick Access toolbar only displays four scripts instead of the complete list.

When I try to open Quick Access, the application crashes. I’ve followed all the steps in your guide and ensured that there are no Orkestra-related folders on my PC anymore. However, the problem persists, and I can’t seem to restore it to normal.

I’ve also tried using versions 1.8.3 and 1.9.0, but without success.

Could you please assist me?

Hi there !
thank you for reporting. A couple of questions:

  • this is about Local QuickAccesses?

  • when you say you also tried 1.8.3 and 1.9.0, does it mean you’re running an older version?

  • Which version of Revit are you using?

  • If I understand correctly, these are the steps you experience:
    - You start revit and all the quickaccesses are there
    - You run a script through a local QuickAccess
    - After the run, only 4 local quickaccesses remain and the rest disapears?

Hi,

Yes i use the Local version of Orkestra.

I had 1.9.0 on my pc for Rvt25 mainly use revit 25 and 24.

How it happend, i runned a dynamo scripts in dynamo itself. after that my orkestra quickacces ribbons in revit, only shows 4 scripts.
and after that i now cant open the quickacces in de app or in revit. its automatically crashes my Orkestra app and when i open it in revit it also crashes my revit.

Thank you for the prompt update. So the quickaccesses are there, but they disappear after opening Dynamo and running a script from within Dynamo. Are you able to identify the exact moment where the scripts disappear? This would be very helpful as it would help narrow down the area of research.

The problem now is haha, that i cant open Orkestra → quickacces tab it crashes as soon as i click on it.

Is there a way to remove Orkestra completely that it also removes the already loaded quickacces?

Dynamo : I dont remember when it happend with running an script.

You could try deleting the UserSettings.xml file that is located in %APPDATA%\orkestra . That’s where the local quickaccess info lives. There might be something wrong going on there. Deleting it will reset the local settings when you restart Revit.

This solved the problem, somehow when i fully delete Orkestra. It seems it keeps loading the faulty UserSettings.xml file. Thanks for the Rapid response!

Awesome!
If this happens again, please store the faulty UserSettings.xml and send it to us so we can analyze it and try figure out where it could be coming from!
