Between 1.7.2 and 1.8.0 there has been a complete rewrite of this UI, to make it cross compatible between Rhino-Grasshopper and Revit/Civil3D-Dynamo environements. That’s the reason behind the regressions that have been pointed out. This one has not been reported yet! We’re fixing it for 1.8.3 . Hopefully this will be the last one
